THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED!
THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED!
There is a famous poem, written by Robert Frost and called ‘The Road Not Taken’. Have you ever heard of it? It’s one of my favourite poems. It’s a lovely poem about decision making, choices and destiny!
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
You may well be asking yourself, how can this poem have anything to do with the Apostolic Scriptures? It’s simple, really. All believers (yes, you included!), have to DECIDE which version of Christ’s message they are going to believe. Yes, we must all make this decision! Are you a Pauline Christian or are you an Apostolic Christian? Once you make the correct choice, it will make all the difference in your life! How can we tell these two different types of Christians apart?
Pauline Christians use the twenty-seven book New Testament and they give special priority to the books written by Paul.
Apostolic Christians, on the other hand, use a ten Book New Testament (aka The Apostolic Scriptures). This means that they reject the seventeen Pauline books as false doctrines written by false prophets.
You will have to decide for yourself whose message you are going to believe in and your decision to reject the Pauline writings will not be easy! But have courage- nothing important is ever easy!
It is NOT easy to choose to walk away from your long-held traditional Pauline Christian religious beliefs. And by the way, it is not enough to just say to yourself, in your mind- I think the Pauline books contradict Christ’s message. NO! You must follow up that mental discussion by taking ACTION! The only proof of a real decision is action. Here’s a great example. Thinking about losing weight or even deciding to lose weight WILL NOT result in you losing pounds! You have to reduce what you eat and you have to exercise. You have to take action!
Tony Robbins- the famous motivational speaker says:
“A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.”
So what are some of the actions that Apostolic Christians take that PROVE that they have rejected the false Pauline doctrines?
§ When you are listening to a sermon on Youtube- do you switch off if the sermon is based on a Pauline passage? Apostolic Christians do.
§ Do you still read devotionals that are based on Pauline writings? Apostolic Christians don’t.
§ What is more important for you- piety or social justice? Christ preached social justice. Therefore, Apostolic Christians prioritise loving and helping others.
As I was preparing this article, I stumbled across something that I had written a little while ago in response to someone’s Facebook comment on the authorship of the New Testament. This person said that the twelve men selected by Christ were just disciples but Paul was an Apostle!
Amazing! What do you think about this? Do you agree with this Facebook commentator?
Many so-called believers think that Paul was better than Christ’s Apostles! If you google Paul, he is often referred to as the ‘founder of Christianity’. And so I guess that it’s no surprise that when we go into church, all we hear is: ‘And Paul said…’ over and over again. Honestly, when is the last time you heard someone preach: ‘And Jesus said…’? Nowadays, sermons, Bible studies and denominational creeds are virtually all based on what Paul said. This is such a shame!
In the dictionary, two uses are given for the word apostle. First, in general terms, an apostle is like an emissary, an ambassador or a messenger. Anybody who is sent with a message can be called an apostle.
In the second usage, the word ‘Apostle’ specifically refers to one of the twelve men who were called and named by Jesus. These are the twelve men who worked with Jesus during His earthly ministry.
Jesus named His Twelve Apostles in Matthew 10:1-4. And to confirm that this number ‘12’ was not just happenstance, in Matthew 19:28 it says that the twelve Apostles will sit on thrones in the new heaven with Jesus and their job will be to judge the twelve tribes of Israel. And in Revelation 21:12-14, Jesus mentions that the twelve Apostles will be honoured in the new Holy Jerusalem. Their names will be written into the twelve foundations of the wall of the new city. Please note, Jesus did not name 13 or 14 or even 70 Apostles! He had twelve at the beginning of His ministry and He had twelve at the very end!
Furthermore, God gave Jesus the twelve men who were to become His Apostles (John 17:6-8)! And they ALL accomplished the individual tasks that they were given. For example, Judas had to betray Jesus for the 30 pieces of silver in order for Old Testament prophecy to be fulfilled (Matthew 27:3-10, John 13:18 and 17:12)! That was his task and he did it. If he hadn’t completed his task, then Jesus would not have been able to fulfill His task- i.e. being crucified as the sacrificial Lamb and rising again.
We know from Job 1:6-12 and Matthew 16:23, that God and Jesus control the actions of satan so as to accomplish Their will. This is why Judas Iscariot is the Apostle that I feel the most pity for! The shame his name has endured over the centuries. He had NO control- the devil entered him (John 13:26-27) for a foreordained purpose!
Remember, in Revelation 2:2, Jesus rebuked those who call themselves apostles. He said: “thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:”. I find this interesting because some people suggest that Paul replaced Judas as the twelth Apostle! But the Bible teaches NO SUCH THING!
Shouldn’t the words of Christ’s true Apostles be more important than the words of self-appointed false prophets?
Matthew 12:30 (KJV, emphasis mine) says:
30 He that is not with me IS AGAINST ME; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
Choose truth and not lies! Choose Christ and not Paul! Take ‘the road less travelled’ and realise for yourself that it will make all the difference in your life.

HARVEST TIME Prophecies’ is the blog post site of TNG Academy. Our blog post site gets its name from Matthew 13:30- the separation of wheat and tares that occurs at harvest time (i.e. the endtimes). Remember, the ‘wheat’ symbolises the things of God and the ‘tares’ symbolise the things of the devil.
The purpose of this blog is threefold.
1. Some of the posts are written to help the reader develop a deeper understanding of the theology of Christ’s core message- i.e. the ‘gospel of the kingdom’.
2. Some of the posts are written for the reader’s personal discipleship journey. We need to understand what God expects from us. After all, all believers should be on a journey of ‘becoming’ our best selves, capable of impacting and changing the world!
3. Finally, some of the posts are written to answer this question:
What would our faith look like today IF we had fully embraced Christ’s doctrines, as recorded by His Apostles, and rejected the doctrines of Paul and the other false apostles?
If we are sincere about our desire to restore Christianity to its roots, i.e. a return to Christ’s original message, then we must start by admitting that ‘while men slept’ (Matthew 13:25) the enemy planted false teachings (tares) into the New Testament!
