LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

I am an unapologetic monarchist! For the past few days, I have been enjoying all the Platinum Jubilee celebrations that are currently taking place in the United Kingdom. These activities are being conducted in order to honour Queen Elizabeth II’s seventy years on the throne.

Do you watch 'The Crown'? I love this Netflix series and through this series, I have come to admire Queen Elizabeth II even more than I did before! Her commitment to duty and her resilience, despite great trauma, is so admirable. I particularly love her famous motto- never complain; never explain! In my opinion, this is an approach to life that many people in our modern society should adopt!

Did you know that all believers are supposed to love royalty? It’s true!

God set up a system whereby He and His Son would rule their people. Consider the messages in 1 Samuel 8:7-10 (KJV, emphasis mine) and Revelation 17:14 (KJV, emphasis mine). These two verses confirm God as Sovereign and Christ as King, respectively.

1 SAMUEL 8:7-10

7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, THAT I SHOULD NOT REIGN OVER THEM.

8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

10 And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king.

REVELATION 17:14

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and KING OF KINGS: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

And did you know that God wants all of His believers to become royalty as well? Remember the passage in 1 Peter 2:9-10 (KJV, emphasis mine)?

        9 But ye are a chosen generation, a ROYAL priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Being royal is a divine blessing!

The life of a monarch is not easy! This is a job that comes with significant duties and responsibilities. Therefore, to do it properly, you must be willing to submit your desires to those that serve the greater good. And because the monarch’s job is so critical, God will often maneuver worldly events so as to ensure that only His anointed monarchs enjoy relatively long reigns as kings or queens! We have seen evidence of this throughout history!

In the Old Testament, King David and Queen Esther were great examples of this maneuvering. And in the United Kingdom, Ann Boleyn and King Edward VIII have also been great examples of this maneuvering! If you recall, Ann Boleyn was one of the many wives of King Henry VIII. Their daughter became the first Queen Elizabeth. And do you remember the story of King Edward VIII? He was known as the ‘king of hearts’. His story was just like a soap opera drama but it really happened!

An American divorcee appeared, from out of nowhere, and beguiled a Prince! The prince became a king. But because the king remained so infatuated with this woman, he eventually chose to abdicate the throne in order to marry her! This woman was Wallis Simpson and the king was King Edward VIII (aka the 'king of hearts'). Was this a disaster for the United Kingdom? Not at all- although, at the time, some may have thought so! King Edward's abdication spared the United Kingdom from having an anti-Semitic Nazi sympathiser sitting on its throne!!! Click here for more details on this story.  So, God used a deep infatuation to cause a change in the line of succession and this change eventually brought Elizabeth II to the throne.

This process of God maneuvering worldly events is called ‘Deus Ex Machina’. It is a Latin phrase for the ‘hand of God’. It explains how God works to accomplish His purposes and His will. I believe in the concept that we were all created by God on purpose, for a purpose.

Do you know what your purpose is? If you do, embrace it! In order for us to enjoy a well-lived life, it is necessary for us to fulfill our God-given purpose. Often, this requires us to deliver a life of service to the position in which God has placed us.

Queen Elizabeth II was brought to the throne by unusual circumstances (aka the ‘hand of God’)! For her seventy years of faithful service- I humbly offer my congratulations to her. Long live the Queen!

HARVEST TIME Prophecies’ is the blog post site of TNG Academy. Our blog post site gets its name from Matthew 13:30- the separation of wheat and tares that occurs at harvest time (i.e. the endtimes). Remember, the ‘wheat’ symbolises the things of God and the ‘tares’ symbolise the things of the devil.

The purpose of this blog is threefold.

1. Some of the posts are written to help the reader develop a deeper understanding of the theology of Christ’s core message- i.e. the ‘gospel of the kingdom’.

2. Some of the posts are written for the reader’s personal discipleship journey. We need to understand what God expects from us. After all, all believers should be on a journey of ‘becoming’ our best selves, capable of impacting and changing the world!

3. Finally, some of the posts are written to answer this question:

What would our faith look like today IF we had fully embraced Christ’s doctrines, as recorded by His Apostles, and rejected the doctrines of Paul and the other false apostles?

If we are sincere about our desire to restore Christianity to its roots, i.e. a return to Christ’s original message, then we must start by admitting that ‘while men slept’ (Matthew 13:25) the enemy planted false teachings (tares) into the New Testament!
