THE PROPHECY OF THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL (PART TWO)
In last week’s post, we were able to unmask the identity of real ‘everlasting gospel’! And what did we discover? The everlasting gospel is a message about the ‘kingdom of heaven’!
The Book of Revelation was written by the Apostle John and in it, he delivers many prophetic messages. And what is important for us to remember is that divine prophecies are ALWAYS fulfilled. They always come true!
In today’s post, we will focus our attention on two things.
§ Who was the intended audience for this message about the ‘kingdom of heaven’?
§ What does this message about the ‘kingdom of heaven’ mean?
In order to fully understand Revelation 14:6-7, we must look at it line by line. We must examine the twelve core ideas in the passage.
REVELATION 14:6-7 (KJV, emphasis mine)
6 And I saw another ANGEL fly in the MIDST OF HEAVEN, HAVING the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that DWELL ON THE EARTH, and to EVERY nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 SAYING with a loud voice, FEAR GOD, and GIVE GLORY TO HIM; for the HOUR of HIS JUDGMENT IS COME: and WORSHIP HIM THAT MADE heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
In the Bible, the word ‘angel’ can be used as a synonym for the word messenger. Therefore, this passage is introducing us to someone who will deliver a divine message.
Do you know that if you want to communicate with people, regardless of where they are (i.e. people in planes, submarines and other remote locations), you can use WIFI internet technology? Traditional internet (ethernet) will not work. Traditional internet relies on cables that are placed deep in the ground or on the floor of the sea. With traditional internet, you cannot reach people in remote locations.
WIFI internet service uses radio waves and satellite communication technology. Guess where these satellites are placed? These satellites are placed in the sky, in the midst of heaven!
WIFI technology has been around for approximately forty years. During the first few years, its use was mainly limited to research and academic settings. However, in the last 25 years, the commercial applications of WIFI have become more popular. And in the last ten years, thanks to WIFI technology, the whole world is now interconnected!
This simply means that this angel will understand the message of the ‘everlasting gospel’. Unlike John, who just informed us that this gospel existed, this new messenger will be able to explain to us the meaning of the ‘everlasting gospel’.
The dead are quite capable of hearing certain messages. Do you remember that Christ preached to the dead after He was crucified?
This section is critically important for us to understand! The everlasting gospel message is not just for Christians or for the nation of Israel. No! This message is for everyone- every nation, kindred, tongue and people!
So, it doesn’t matter if you are living in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe or the Americas. It doesn’t matter if you are white, black or brown. It doesn’t matter if you speak Hindi, English, Xhosa or Chinese. It doesn’t matter if you are Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, agnostic or atheist.
Everyone in the world who is alive when this message is being delivered will hear it and will be held responsible for an appropriate response.
This angel will most likely communicate with the world using the spoken word.
This is an important instruction in the message! Those who define themselves as agnostics or atheists will not be exempt from the wrath of God’s judgment. Everyone must learn that there IS a God and we are to fear Him!
We are expected to honour and respect God by glorifying Him with what we think, what we say and what we do.
God set a timeframe for this judgment to be executed. This judgment will occur AFTER the messenger has delivered the 'everlasting gospel' / 'kingdom of heaven' message to the whole world. Remember that delivering this message to a worldwide audience only became possible with WIFI technology! This means that both the giving of the message AND the judgment are post-WIFI and not pre-WIFI events!
We must clearly understand whose judgment we will suffer. It will be God’s judgment. Throughout the Old Testament, there are many examples of prophets issuing warnings of God’s impending judgment. Sometimes the people listened and changed their ways (like the people of Nineveh); many times they did not (recall Noah and the flood).
John’s prophecy is warning us that God has been preparing to exact a worldwide judgment since the first century or earlier. Why? Because God knew that in every generation there would be:
- those who claim to be believers- but, in reality, they don’t listen to His Son! Instead, they follow the teachings of the false apostles (Paul, Mark, Luke, the author of Hebrews, etc).
- those who deny His existence- e.g. the agnostics and the atheists.
- those who do not fear Him- the abortionists, the human traffickers, the politically and financially corrupt and those without compassion.
- those who say they love their neighbour but in reality they judge and reject their neighbour.
God’s coming judgment will be a punishment for all of us who have transgressed God's standards.
The time for the judgment promised in Revelation 14:6-7 is almost upon us.
Finally, John’s prophecy seeks to ensure that we are crystal clear about what we can do to AVOID judgment. We must worship ‘Him that made’- God the Creator.
Many people discount God’s role in the creation of heaven and earth. But the Bible is clear and consistent on this. God (Elohim) was the force behind creation. Heaven and earth and everything in it are NOT here because of a series of random acts of evolution!
A messenger will come to preach about the judgment associated with the kingdom of heaven gospel. And because of WIFI technology, everyone on earth will be able to hear this message. This message will be simple- fear God, give glory to God and worship God because He is the creator of heaven and earth. But many will continue to refuse to do this and so God’s judgment on the world is inevitable and coming soon.
Do you remember Matthew 4:17? Christ's first sermon also focused on this topic of coming judgment! Do you remember what He said (KJV, emphasis mine)?
“Repent: for the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is at hand.”
Yes, this is the very same ‘kingdom of heaven’ message! Christ began His ministry with a message of judgment associated with the kingdom of heaven and He ended with the exact same message!
Time is at hand- REPENT NOW!
‘HARVEST TIME Prophecies’ is the blog post site of TNG Academy. Our blog post site gets its name from Matthew 13:30- the separation of wheat and tares that occurs at harvest time (i.e. the endtimes). Remember, the ‘wheat’ symbolises the things of God and the ‘tares’ symbolise the things of the devil.
The purpose of this blog is threefold.
1. Some of the posts are written to help the reader develop a deeper understanding of the theology of Christ’s core message- i.e. the ‘gospel of the kingdom’.
2. Some of the posts are written for the reader’s personal discipleship journey. We need to understand what God expects from us. After all, all believers should be on a journey of ‘becoming’ our best selves, capable of impacting and changing the world!
3. Finally, some of the posts are written to answer this question:
What would our faith look like today IF we had fully embraced Christ’s doctrines, as recorded by His Apostles, and rejected the doctrines of Paul and the other false apostles?
If we are sincere about our desire to restore Christianity to its roots, i.e. a return to Christ’s original message, then we must start by admitting that ‘while men slept’ (Matthew 13:25) the enemy planted false teachings (tares) into the New Testament!
